UO organizes seminar on ‘Mental Health Awareness’

The University of Okara’s Department of Psychology organized a seminar on mental health awareness under the theme “Mental Health and Well-being for All a Global Priority”.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health, District Okara, Dr Akhtar Baloch and Head of Department of Psychiatry at the District Headquarter Hospital Okara, Dr Kamran, participated as guest speakers.

The UO Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid was Patron-in-Chief and Ayesha Jabbar, Coordinator, Department of Psychology, was the Chief Organizer of the event.

The speakers discussed various social, economic, emotional and political causes and aspects of mental diseases. The students demonstrated different phases mental wellbeing and illnesses through presentations, documentaries, dramas, storylines and case studies.

Moreover, awareness stalled were placed to reflects on various aspects of Mental Health. A walk was also done in this regard.
