The 10th meeting of the University of Okara’s (UO) Academic Council (AC), chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Javaid Akhtar, was held where some crucial decisions regarding the academic infrastructure of the university were made.
The AC unanimously approved the decision of the second meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies & Research (BASAR). These decisions included the approval of the synopsis of various MPhil and PhD students. Moreover, the council decided to restructure the academic infrastructure of the UO as per the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and instructions of the Syndicate.
The credit hours of morning and self-support courses for both the regular as well as visiting faculty were also decided. The council also decided the constitution of the Admission Committee and Prospectus Committee. The rules of the 5th Intake in BS programs were also approved. The external members, who attended the meeting, included Secretary Higher Education Department, Syed Ansar Azhar, Director Public Instructions (Colleges), Prof Dr Noshina Saleem, Director, School of Communication Studies at University of the Punjab, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, Former Dean Faculty of Arts & Humanities at PU, Prof Dr Muhammad Ilyas Tariq, Former Pro VC, University of Sargodha.
