LAHORE – The premier show of ‘Umro Ayyar’ has been held at a local cinema in Lahore, with the prominent celebrities of the showbiz industry in presence.
The large number of people have also attended the show and enjoyed the premier display of film ‘Umro Ayyar’.
“It is amazing work and really impressive,” says a man who had come there along with family at the premier show.
Umar o Ayyar is an action, adventure, fantasy and a thriller which will hit the cinemas on this Eid-ul-Adha.
Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning will star an ensemble cast of Saeed, Usman Mukhtar, Faran Tahir, Ali Kazmi, Adnan Siddiqui, Simi Raheal, Sana Fakhar, Manzar Sehbai, Daniyal Raheal, Salmaan Shaukat, Osama Karamat, Uloomi Karim, Asad Chaudhary, Atif Rehan Siddique, Muhammad Imran, Bilal Jutt, Ruman Ali and Shehroz Sanaullah.
Lead actor Sanam Saeed, together with a talented ensemble cast, seeks to bring the enchanting stories of Umro Ayyar to life for audiences both in Pakistan and around the world.
Sanam Saeed, who plays a member of Ayyar’s group, also took part in the premier show and expressed her views and passion, saying that film is a superhero narrative inspired by folklore.
The actress said that how the film blends Ayyar’s historical narrative with contemporary settings, aiming to engage younger viewers.
” The generation needs to hear stories from Urdu literature,” aid the actress, adding that they have a wealth of characters and tales to draw from.
“If we don’t connect with our Urdu heritage, it will fade away,” said the actress, pointing out that they have not had a live-action film with a superhero at its core before.
She said, “This is my first experience performing numerous stunts and action sequences in front of a green screen. The film is rich in VFX… A stunt director and coordinator were brought in from abroad, and we had trainers on set to guide us,”.
Director Azfar Jafri was of the view that some concepts found in Western books and movies actually originate from Umro Ayyar’s tales, which leads to the misconception that these ideas are entirely Western.
He stated that certain Western stories and films include elements borrowed from Umro Ayyar’s verses, causing our younger audience to think these concepts are original to the West,” Jafri told Arab News.
“Our goal is to illuminate the true source of inspiration by creating a film centered around Umro Ayyar,” he added.
