A meeting of the Central Consultative Council (Majlis-e-Shura) of Markazi Ulema Council Pakistan was held at Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Islamic Research Center, Lahore, under the chairmanship of Chairman Markazi Ulama Council Pakistan, Sahibzada Maulana Zahid Mahmood Qasmi.
During the meeting, members of the Central Shura stated that the acts of vandalism, disorder and attempts to challenge the writ of the state by the Azad Kashmir Joint Action Committee should be stopped immediately.
They called upon the government to take strict and effective action. While peaceful protest is the constitutional and democratic right of every citizen taking the law into one’s own hands and paralyzing public life under the guise of protest is unacceptable under any circumstances.
The participants noted that Azad Kashmir has always been a symbol of peace, brotherhood and national unity. The stability of Kashmir is closely linked with the stability of Pakistan. Peace, development and prosperity in Azad Kashmir are in the interest of the entire country.
The meeting reaffirmed its commitment to fully cooperate with the government and law enforcement agencies during Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH (2026) to promote religious harmony, inter-sect tolerance, prevention of hate narratives, peaceful coexistence and maintenance of law and order.
The participants emphasized the need for full implementation of the national narrative Paigham-e-Pakistan and the code of conduct of MiliYakjehti Council Pakistan to effectively curb sectarianism, incitement and activities based on hatred. The Council appreciated the successes of ongoing security operations for national defense and security particularly Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos and paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, security institutions and law enforcement agencies for their services.
The meeting strongly condemned all forms of terrorism, extremism and sabotage and announced full support for state institutions in establishing lasting peace in the country.
Among those present at the meeting were Central Secretary General Allama Shah Nawaz Farooqi, Vice Chairman Pir G. Khalid Mahmood Qasmi, Central Deputy Secretary General Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Usmani, Finance Secretary Allama Hafeez-ur-Rehman Kashmiri, Maulana Muhammad Bilal (President KP), Qari Muhammad MushtaqLahori (President Punjab), Maulana Sher Gilgiti (Gilgit-Baltistan), Maulana Abu Sufyan Hanafi (Senior Vice President Punjab), Hafiz Muhammad ShoaibSiddiqi (Vice President Punjab), Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman (Vice President Punjab), Maulana Muhammad Azam Farooq (Secretary General Punjab), Maulana Amir Ashraf (Deputy Secretary Information & Broadcasting Punjab), divisional presidents and representatives from Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Wazirabad, KotAddu, Lahore, and other districts, along with numerous scholars and religious leaders from across the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, special prayers were offered for Pakistan’s security, stability, unity of the Muslim Ummah, sectarian harmony, national solidarity, and prosperity.
