British High Commission Second Political Secretary Dr Camila Macdonald called on Jamaat-e-Islami MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and JI Foreign Affairs Department Director Asif Luqman Qazi in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Both sides discussed the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir, said a press release issued from JI headquarters Mansoora. Asif Luqman Qazi pointed out that international community should fulfil its responsibility to help Afghan people on the humanitarian basis.
He said the improvement human and women rights situation in the war-ravaged country was only possible if the world extended helping hand to bring betterment in the economy of Afghanistan. He said Afghan people have their own traditions and norms and world must give space and respect to those values.
Dr Macdonald said that the British government would help the Afghan people on humanitarian ground as per country’s law and obligations.
