ISLAMABAD – Director General Political at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Ed Llewellyn visited Islamabad for a series of senior-level engagements, reiterating United Kingdom’s commitment to peace, stability, and deeper cooperation with Pakistan.
During his visit, Llewellyn praised Pakistan’s efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and reiterated the UK’s call for an immediate halt to attacks on civilian infrastructure. He also acknowledged the significant impact of terrorism on Pakistan’s people and commended the sacrifices made by its law enforcement and security forces in combating extremist threats.
Director General reaffirmed that the UK stands firmly alongside Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and emphasized the importance of enhancing joint security cooperation.
Llewellyn further highlighted UK’s support for Pakistan’s long-term economic growth and stressed the value of continued collaboration on climate resilience, development programs, and people-to-people connections.
