UHE marks International Women’s Day

The University of Home Economics (UHE) organized a ceremony to celebrate International Women’s Day here.

On the occasion, honorable guests included: Ms. Zeeshan Zia Raja, an entrepreneur with 26 years of experience in Education, Training, and Management; Ms Saira Kazi Dar, an educationist who has also served as Head of the Art Department (Senior School), at prestigious Aitcheson College Lahore.

While addressing the ceremony, UHE Vice-chancellor Dr Kanwal Ameen said that society is comprised of more than 50 percent women who have always played a vital role in progress of the nation.

The University of Home Economics is trying to empower our women with knowledge and modern research by providing them education, skills, and training in all trades.

She said that women are free to express their opinions but it should be done in a cultured and civilized way.

Both male and female have equal rights and they should grow together professionally in all walks of life with the support of each other.

The honorable guests said on the occasion that women are playing important role in Pakistan’s development since its inception.

They said that the role of women in all walks of life is undeniable and without them, the dream of a developed and prosperous Pakistan cannot be achieved.
