Head of International Affairs at Uber Matthew Devlin called on Punjab Minister for Trade and Industry Mian Aslam Iqbal here at Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) office on Friday and discussed various matters including the problems, investment in Punjab and the future roadmap. He informed the minister that Uber intended to enhance its investment in Punjab by launching bus and ambulance service. “We want to achieve the target of creating five lakh employment opportunities through investment,” he said.
Mian Aslam appreciated the investment offer and assured that every possible cooperation would be extended. The Punjab government is following a comprehensive programme to increase socio-economic activities in the province.
He said that a meeting should be arranged between the transport department and Uber company officials, adding that creating employment opportunities through investment was the strategy of the Punjab government.
