DUBAI – United Arab Emirates is welcoming foreigners with various types of visas, and the Middle Eastern nation has now introduced Blue Residency visa for individuals who have contributed significantly to environmental protection.
The new visa program reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.
The country of 9.4 million tailored 10 year visa for people involved in environmental protection, including efforts to improve air quality and promote green technology.
UAE 10 Year Visa
The new initiative reflects UAE’s commitment to environmental preservation while diversifying revenue streams. Blue Residency is part of the UAE’s 2024 sustainability initiatives.
UAE typically offers two-year residency visas, and Golden Visa, which targets investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, students, and other individuals seeking long-term residency.
Skilled professionals, freelancers, investors, and entrepreneurs can also apply for 5-year-visa program.

‘UAE Blue residency’
The new visa scheme was approved by federal cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
The cabinet also endorsed a new classification system for higher education institutions in the country. This system considers factors like educational quality, research strength, and graduate employability.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted that these decisions align with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directives for 2024 to be the Year of Sustainability. The Blue Residency visa will be awarded to individuals who excel in promoting sustainability, modern technologies, the circular economy, and related fields.
