Uae Consul General Responds To Rumors Of Visa Suspension For Pakistanis

KARACHI – Amid rumors of visa suspension for Pakistanis, UAE Consul General, HE Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, has issued statement, assuring citizens that the reports are completely fabricated.

Consul General said ties between Pakistan and the UAE remain strong and stable, and that Pakistani citizens can continue to obtain UAE visas without any interruption. He added that misleading rumors are being spread by conspiratorial elements seeking to create confusion.

He highlighted services available in Pakistan, noting that largest visa center in Asia, located in Karachi, is fully operational, with staff dedicated to serving Pakistani brothers and sisters. He explained that for certain types of visas, advance appointments are required, but all services continue uninterrupted.

Consul General reaffirmed that support for medical treatment, educational seminars, and other related services remains fully operational, ensuring that Pakistanis can continue to travel to the UAE for essential services and opportunities.

With this clear statement, the UAE assures Pakistanis that travel and visa processes remain smooth and uninterrupted, countering all false reports circulating in the media.

Thousands of Pakistanis planning trips to the UAE are facing uncertainty after reports emerged that the Gulf nation has halted visas for ordinary citizens, leaving workers and families in turmoil. Once a destination where Pakistanis helped build Dubai’s iconic skyline and sent vital remittances home, the UAE now appears to be tightening entry almost entirely, raising fears of a potential full travel ban.

Pakistan’s Additional Interior Secretary Salman Chaudhry told the Senate that currently, only diplomats and holders of blue passports are receiving visas, while ordinary travelers face indefinite delays. He revealed that Riyadh and Abu Dhabi had even considered a complete ban on Pakistani nationals.

Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri linked the clampdown to concerns over criminal activities by a small number of visitors. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met UAE officials seeking solutions, but visa delays persist despite assurances.
