The UAE Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, has outlined growing challenges for Pakistani citizens in obtaining UAE visas, attributing some restrictions to problematic social media activity by Pakistani influencers. Dr. Alremeithi expressed concern over negative content shared on platforms like TikTok, noting that such posts have led to heightened scrutiny from UAE authorities, resulting in stricter visa regulations for Pakistanis. Dr. Alremeithi urged Pakistanis to engage responsibly on social media, respecting UAE’s cultural norms and policies.

“The UAE actively monitors online activity,” he cautioned, warning that posts deemed inappropriate could lead to “serious consequences.” The Consul General also addressed difficulties faced by Pakistani professionals, particularly in the banking and healthcare sectors, in meeting degree attestation requirements for UAE employment.

He advised those encountering challenges with attestation to seek direct assistance from the UAE consulate to facilitate the process. Highlighting the UAE’s commitment to opportunities in education and health, Dr. Alremeithi encouraged Pakistanis to focus on excelling in these sectors, emphasizing the potential for positive contributions in the Emirates.
