Two lakh People in Pakistan living with HIV/AIDS

Skin Specialist & Executive Director Bridge Foundation, Dr. Sharaf Ali Shah has said that about 200,000 people in Pakistan are living with HIV/AIDS.

Addressing a seminar organized by Bridge Foundation at a local hotel in Karachi on the occasion of World AIDS Day, he said that the government should play an important role in curbing the spread of AIDS in Pakistan. He said, we are trying our best on our platform as HIV/AIDS patients have lack of resources

Dr. Sharaf Ali Shah said that the Bridge Foundation is trying to meet their monthly rations and their needs, but the government and international organizations should come forward and help these patients.

He highlighted the facilities, problems and solutions available to the people living with HIV/AIDS.  “Very few patients are taking HIV/AIDS drugs, which is a dangerous situation,” the CEO Bridge Foundation said.

The seminar was also addressed by the President of Infection Control Society and well known Dr. Rafiq Khanani, Syed Rizwan Mustafa, Waheed Khan Khattak, Muhammad Rehan Khan and others.

The seminar was attended by a large number of HIV/AIDS patients and other members of the community in which Mazhar Anjum, Sadiq Shah, Imtiaz Bano and special guests Syed Khadim Ali Shah, Dr. Ashraf Mubeen, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Afshan, Dr. Farheen Ali, Muhammad Omar Abro, Dr. Iqtdar Ahmed, Dr. Naveed Bhutto, Dr. Lala Aftab, Wajid Ali, Chairman Social Forum Nafees Ahmed Khan, Najia Durrani, Masood Ahmed Wasi, Nadia Farrukh and others were also prominent.
