ISLAMABAD – Punjab’s lower courts will remain closed on November 1 due to the Punjab Bar Council elections.
The elections intensified political activities and maneuvering among blackcoats across the province.
Polling stations will be set up in major divisions, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, and Sahiwal. A total of 341 candidates are contesting the elections province-wide, with 93 candidates from Lahore division expected to face particularly stiff competition.
Meanwhile, in Narowal district, a public holiday has been declared on November 1 to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lathani (RA).
As Sunday is also a holiday, residents will enjoy a two-day break. Deputy Commissioner Narowal Syed Hassan Raza, issued an official notification regarding the holiday.
