Three labourers, said to be brothers, died when a well they were digging caved in while two bike riding brothers were crushed to death in a separate road incident occurred on Sunday.
According to police and rescuers, three brothers died after a well they were digging caved in Chak 138 of Bahawalnagar on Sunday.
The officials informed that two other persons also got seriously injured in the ill-fated incident.
All three labourers were real brothers and identified as 20-year old Ahmed Munir, 23-year old Muhammad Shakeel and 27-year-old Dastageer.
On information, rescuers rushed to the scene and shifted the injured identified as Muhammad Akbar, 45 and Ajmal to Bahawalpur DHQ Hospital in critical condition.
The rescuers informed that the labourers were digging a well when it collapsed and left the labourers buried under earth.
In another incident, two motorcycle riding brothers were killed in hit and run accident here on Sunday.
According to police, two brothers, belonging to Loharan Wala Khoo area of Lahore were on visit to Sahiwal to attend a funeral procession of a close relatives.
While returning, the motorcycle was knocked down by a vehicle in suburbs of Sahiwal city. Resultantly Muhammad Mushtaq and Muhammad Iqbal died on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to hospital where they were handed over to heirs after legal formality.
The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver who managed to flee the scene.
Meanwhile, five persons including a woman were injured in collision between two motorcycles here on Sunday, police said.
According to police, two speeding motorcycles collided on Mananwala Road near Dera Negahban.
Resultantly, five persons including 19-year-old Sunny s/o Sadiq, 28-year-old Muzzamil Hussain s/o Abdul Rehman, 34-year-old Shamoon s/o Sadiq, 36-year-old Jamil and 38-year-old Samia Bibi w/o Abdul Rehman were injured the accident.
