Seeks five-year vision reports from parliamentary secretaries
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday said tendency to turn political opposition into hostility has harmed Pakistan a lot and lamented, “Government was in the hands of incompetents for four years, 40 years of development was destroyed in four years.”
Maryam on Tuesday met Provincial Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries and directed the authorities concerned to invite parliamentary secretaries concerned to the departmental meetings.
She also directed Parliamentary Secretaries to get details of the projects from their respective departments, and sought five-year vision reports from them.
The Chief Minister said the parliamentary secretaries also have no less status than Ministers for her. She added that the parliamentary Secretaries are her assistants in the execution of government policies. She highlighted, without Allah’s help and pubic support, she is nothing.
She said, no person can run this government, everyone has to work together. She added that they should unite and make joint efforts, every day is precious, five years are too short to serve the people.” She urged the officials to open doors of your heart for people besides opening doors of your offices for them.
Earlier in a meeting, Chinese investors described Punjab as a land full of opportunities.” Maryam Nawaz said, had she got Shehbaz Sharif’s developed Punjab, she would have progressed very fast. She added that the day and night work done during Shehbaz Sharif’s reign was destroyed in a few years. She underscored hard work, saying that the ideal improvement in six months could not be claimed.
The CM said, “I am a public representative, have never left any stone unturned to ensure their betterment.” She added,” I do not take leave from work because it is my duty.” She flagged, “No matter how much work I do, I am never satisfied with my work.”
Maryam said while talking about other governments, “No one can bring as many schemes in five years as we have done in six months.” She added, “Our schemes are not on paper but the work has started on ground,”.
Chief Minister noted “In the past, due to the government’s attitudes, public’s confidence decreased, but now there is an encouraging response from the public.” She said that inflation is decreasing.
Earlier the price graph was going up, now it is going down.
She added, prices of flour, milk and essential items are on the decline. She flashed, the price of flour in Punjab is around Rs800 while it reached Rs 1400 in other provinces.
CM Maryam also said, in Punjab, bread is available for Rs12-13 and 14, but you are well aware of the condition of other provinces. She added that prices of flour and other items are also checked from personal sources. She said she checked live food prices on screen at her office.
Chief Minister said that reducing inflation is a joint responsibility of all of them, adding that delivery of Kisan Cards started in Punjab. More than 8 lakh people applied for Kisan Cards and are being issued to about four lakh people.
