THERE are few countries in the world which always stand by Pakistan in difficult situations. Be it the stance on lingering Jammu and Kashmir dispute or any calamity-like situation, these countries are always forthcoming to extend help to Pakistan.

Turkiye is also one such country with which Pakistan enjoys very cordial and warm relations.

These relations, in fact, are deep rooted in the hearts of the peoples of both the countries, and especially under the visionary leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erodgan, these countries have really come very close to each other.

The way prayers were offered for the flood-affected people of Pakistan in the mosques of Turkiye on Friday is a clear reflection of the unique bonds that exist between the two fraternal countries.

Also on Friday a Turkish delegation led by its Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu reached Islamabad as a mark of expression of solidarity with the people of Pakistan which during talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured fullest support for the flood victims.

Turkish entrepreneurs and other segments of the society are also sending immediate relief items to Pakistan.

During talks with the Turkish delegation, the PM very rightly underlined that Pakistan and Turkiye are two hearts with one soul.

There indeed cannot be a better lexeme than this to describe this relationship.

The people of Pakistan will always remain indebted to the support being extended by Turkiye for the flood victims. This flood challenge also offers an opportunity for us to build back better.

As Turkiye, over the last few years, has developed modern infrastructure because of which it has become one of the top tourist destinations, we will suggest our government to learn from the expertise of Turkish friends who we have no doubt in saying will be more than willing to help rebuild the lives of poor households in a better manner.

With the help of Turkiye and some other friendly countries, our focus should be building such an infrastructure which is climate resilient and presents a new face to the world.
