RAWALPINDI – Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Metin Tokel called on Pakistan’s top military leadership and discussed matters of bilateral defence cooperation and regional security.
Upon arrival at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the visiting dignitary was presented with a smartly turned-out Guard of Honour by a Pakistan Army contingent. During his meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, both sides exchanged views on evolving regional security dynamics, issues of mutual professional interest, and prospects for further strengthening defence collaboration between Islamabad and Ankara.

COAS, CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir shared views on long-standing historical, cultural, and strategic relationship between the two countries and appreciated the close cooperation between their armed forces.
General Tokel later visited Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, where he called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M). The two sides discussed professional matters and the regional maritime security environment.
He also visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad and met Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral military cooperation and expanding institutional linkages between the two air forces.
Turkish Land Forces Commander lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace and stability. He also expressed commitment to further strengthening defence ties and institutional cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Türkiye.
