Turkish envoy pays rich tributes to Abdul Rahman Peshawari

The YunusEmre Institute, Pakistan, and IdaraFarogh-e-QaumiZaban jointly organized a conference to commemorate the life and legacy of Abdul RahmanPeshawari, a renowned figure who symbolizes the cultural and historical ties between Turkiye and Pakistan.

The conference, held at Aiwan-e-Urdu was presided over by Prof DrKanwal Amin, Vice Chancellor, GC Women University, Faisalabad. Turkish Ambassador, Mr. IrfanNaziroglu, was the chief guest of the conference.

In his opening remarks, YunusEmre Institute Country Director, Prof. Dr. HalilToker highlighted Abdul RahmanPeshawari’s contributions to the cultural and historical heritage of both Turkiye and Pakistan.

Salim Jan, the great-grandson of Abdul RahmanPeshawari, delivered the keynote address drawing the audience’s attention to his illustrious great grandfather.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Dr Mehmet Toyran, Education Counselor, Turkish Embassy, Ms. Sima Nu Ercan, Mr. Abdul Akbar, Dr. FarooqAdil, Dr. SadafNaqvi, and Dr. Ziauddin, shared their insights on Abdul RehmanPeshawari’s contributions.

Turkish Ambassador IrfanNaziroglu paid tributes to the services of Abdul RehmanPeshawari and highlighting the centuries-old brotherly relations between Turkiye and Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and historical ties between the two nations.

Prof Dr. Kanwal Amin, Vice Chancellor, GC Women University, Faisalabad, emphasized the need to remember and honour the contributions of great heroes like Abdul RahmanPeshawari. She expressed her gratitude to the conference organizers, particularly Prof. Dr. HalilToker, Country Director, YunusEmre Institute, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad SaleemMazhar, Director General, IdaraFarogh-e-QaumiZaban, Islamabad.

In his vote of thanks, DG Institute for the Promotion of National Language, Prof. Dr. Muhammad SalimMazhar, thanked the distinguished guests reiterating that the doors of the Institute for the Promotion of National Language would always remain open to such scholarly events.
