Trump Withdraws Canadas Invitation To Join Gaza Board Of Peace

DAVOS – US President Donald Trump has withdrawn Canada’s invitation to join the Gaza “Board of Peace,” a peace initiative launched by his administration, according to statements made at the World Economic Forum in Davos 2026.

President Trump said the invitation previously extended to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to join the initiative had been revoked. He made the remarks while speaking on the sidelines of the forum in Switzerland.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, President Trump confirmed that Carney had been invited earlier but said he was now withdrawing the invitation. He described the Gaza Board of Peace as a forum of some of the world’s most influential leaders.

The US president has formally announced the establishment of the Gaza Board of Peace, aimed at promoting stability and peace in the region. Pakistan’s prime minister has also signed on to the initiative.

According to reports, 19 countries have so far joined the Board, including Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Other countries that have announced their participation include Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Hungary, Kosovo, Morocco, and Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, addressing the forum in Davos, thanked President Trump for the invitation to join the initiative. He said Russia was prepared to contribute one billion dollars and added that Moscow has cooperated in all efforts aimed at global stability.
