United States President Donald Trump has urged Israel and Iran to halt hostilities and end attacks against one another.
In a short message posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump said both countries “must immediately stop shooting.”
In a separate post on X, he said both Israel and Iran appear ready to pursue an “immediate ceasefire.” Trump said final negotiations aimed at securing peace were moving forward, though he warned that “ignorance or stupidity” could still derail the process.
He added that the blockade would remain fully enforced until a final agreement is achieved, while expressing optimism that developments toward a deal would progress rapidly.
According to media reports, Iran launched nearly 30 missiles toward Israel overnight, marking the first direct exchange of fire between the two sides since a ceasefire was reached in April.
Israeli military official stated that “the Iranian regime began firing ballistic missiles towards Israel” during the night, adding that close to 30 missiles had been launched.
He also said Yemen’s Houthi rebels separately fired two missiles at Israel.
