Trump Contacted Pak Field Marshal Asim Munir To Secure Imran Khans Release Marwat Claims

ISLAMABAD –Former Prime Minister Imran Khan remained behind bars for a prolonged period, and it prompted several theories about global powers behind his detention and release.

Lately, Member of National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat claimed that US President Donald Trump personally sought release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. According to Marwat, Trump went as far as contacting Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to facilitate Khan’s freedom.

In an exclusive interview, Marwat said that behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts were actively underway to secure ex-Prime Minister’s release. However, the plot reportedly hit a roadblock when some PTI members in the National Assembly staged protests against US and President Trump, derailing the sensitive negotiations.

Marwat was of view that this information came from highly reliable sources, and that the Parliamentary protests directly impacted the progress of the diplomatic mission.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump would not interfere in Imran Khan’s imprisonment, dismissing all social media claims. Khan, jailed since last August after being ousted in 2022.
