A special court trying former military ruler General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf for high treason has given the former army chief till Dec 5 to record his statement.
The special court took up the matter on Thursday a day after the IHC stopped it from announcing its verdict.
The special court was scheduled to deliver the verdict on Thursday in the absence of Musharraf, who had flown to the UAE in May 2016 for ‘medical treatment’ and has not returned since to face the court.
During the hearing, the three-judge special court – headed by Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth – asserted that it was only obligated to follow the Supreme Court’s orders and not any high court.
Justice Seth said the court would not comment on the IHC ruling.
