Following directives from Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Sindh Transport Department has intensified its campaign against transporters overcharging passengers. With assistance from police and the National Highways and Motorways Police, a total of 788 inter-city and inter-provincial vehicles were inspected.
During the operation, an amount of Rs. 811,500, which was collected as extra fare, was refunded to the passengers. Additionally, transporters found guilty of overcharging were fined a total of Rs. 290,500.
This crackdown aims to ensure fair pricing and protect passengers from exploitation.
