Local sources in Daikundi province, in central Afghanistan, say that in a traffic accident in the province, a woman lost her life and four people suffered injuries.

According to sources, a Corolla wagon deviated from the road and tipped over later yesterday, 30th July, in Ishtarlay district of Daikundi province. The sources continued, saying that the injured were transferred to the Daikundi Provincial Hospital for treatment and that they are reportedly doing well as they heal from their wounds. Four persons, including a woman, were killed in a truck-car collision on the Kabul-Kandahar highway this morning. A car accident involving a laden truck and a passenger car in the Balkh province of northern Afghanistan claimed the lives of three more people and injured up to 12 more.

Driver error has recently been cited as a major contributing factor in an increasing number of deadly accidents in Afghanistan. Drivers who disobey traffic laws, crumbling roads, speeding, and a lack of traffic signals are other major contributors to Afghanistan’s daily traffic deaths.—Khaama New press Agency
