ISLAMABAD – A significant increase has been witnessed in the sale and production of cars in the country during the first four months of the current financial year 2025-26 as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
The sale and product has surged to 39.85 and 70.88 percent respectively during the July-October 2025-26.
According to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), a total of 42,831 cars were sold, marking a significant increase from the previous year’s 30,625 units. The production of cars also saw a notable rise, growing from 29,977 units to 51,226 units, which represents an increase of 39.85% in sales and 70.88% in production.
Toyota Sales and Production
Among the best-selling vehicles, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris saw a 70.81% surge in sales, from 6,655 units last year to 11,368 units this year. Production of Toyota models also rose sharply, increasing by 66.59%, from 6,972 units to 11,615 units.
Honda Sales and Production
Honda’s car sales grew by 37.11%, from 4,424 units to 6,066 units. Honda’s production also saw a rise, increasing by 53.02%, from 4,200 units to 6,427 units.
Other Car Sales
In terms of other vehicle brands, Suzuki Swift’s sales grew dramatically by 128.51%, rising from 1,999 units to 4,568 units. Sales of the Hyundai Elantra also showed an uptick, rising from 308 units to 742 units. The Hyundai Sonata experienced a 14.68% increase in sales, growing from 198 units to 227 units. Additionally, Suzuki Cultus saw its sales rise from 629 units to 1,680 units, while Suzuki Alto sales grew from 12,723 units to 16,169 units.
New Electric Vehicle Sales
The newly introduced Dewan Honri-VE electric vehicle sold 115 units from July to October 2025.
Production Growth for Other Cars
The production of Suzuki Swift increased by 81.05%, rising from 2,602 units to 4,711 units. Hyundai Elantra’s production saw a substantial rise, going from 330 units to 1,152 units. The production of Hyundai Sonata rose from 269 units to 337 units. The production of Suzuki Cultus grew to 1,548 units from 581 units. Meanwhile, Suzuki Alto’s production skyrocketed by 105.64%, from 11,554 units to 23,760 units. The Dewan Honri-VE electric vehicle saw the production of 95 units during the same period.
