Suggests 3-member penal to probe torture
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Central Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry strongly condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to Dr. Shahbaz Gill and said that those individuals responsible for his torture must be exposed and brought to book. Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Fawad stated that case has been lodged against Gill, its ok but violence and torture on him was unacceptable and not tolerable.
He said that gravity of the situation could be judged from the fact that voices were being raised from all parties against the torture on Gill. Fawad Chaudhry suggested that three-member penal comprising of PPP, PML-N and PTI leaders should formed to probe into the torture on Gill. He said that in his opinion, the panel should be consisted of Khawaja Saad Rafiq of PML-N, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar of PPP and Dr. Shireen Mazari of PTI to investigate the various serious issue.
Fawad said that the penal should be tasked to identify the individuals involved in the heinous crime and bring them to book. He stated that no one can raise question over such a panel having representations from all major political parties. Talking about filing cases against PML-N leaders, Fawad went on to day that Punjab government filed cases against PML-N leaders in very civilized way. However, he said that they fled to Islamabad instead of facing the court like the PTI did.
He said that Maryam Nawaz’s spokesperson Uzma Bukhari gave a very sensational statement, who stated that their sole purpose was to force Gill to give statement against Chairman PTI Imran Khan. Fawad stated that Shahbaz Gill had shown the signs of torture in the court, adding that if the Supreme Court would not speak against the torture, how will the subordinate courts do it?
He stated that the legitimacy of the High Courts was lost if the courts did not stand against violence. Fawad said that all pressures tactics were used against the Additional Sessions Judge, adding that the Magistrate said that the medical report did not match with the condition of Gill. Fawad said that it was difficult to trust the Islamabad Police in the present circumstances. It was worth to mentioned here that Former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday stunned the nation when he claimed that his chief of staff Dr Shahbaz Gill was sexually abused, vowing that he would leave no stone unturned to bring to justice those who were responsible for mentally and physically torturing his aide.
Announcing taking out a rally against the alleged torture on his aide facing charges of inciting mutiny in the army, the PTI chairman said that he has obtained detailed information about the “inhuman treatment” meted out to Gill and questioned “who tortured Gill”, especially, when the capital’s police said it did not inflict any torture.
