TORONTO – Canada joined the FIFA World Cup 2026 celebrations with a spectacular opening ceremony in Toronto, captivating football fans ahead of the host nation’s opening match of the tournament.
The ceremony, held before Canada’s clash against Bosnia, featured performances by several internationally acclaimed artists, adding to the festive atmosphere at the stadium.
Canadian singers Alessia Cara and Jessie Reyez, along with actress and performer Nora Fatehi and singer Eliana, entertained thousands of spectators with vibrant performances.

The stadium was illuminated in Canada’s traditional red and white colours during the ceremony, creating a celebratory atmosphere as fans welcomed the start of the tournament in the country.
The opening match of the second day of the World Cup featured hosts Canada against Bosnia, while the United States were scheduled to face Paraguay later in the day.
