TOLOnews is a media news organisation based in Afghanistan. TOLOnews has, as its core principle, an obligation to report information that it deems to be news worthy.

Since starting its operation in 2004 as part of TOLO TV, TOLOnews faced many challenges when reporting on sensitive issues.

However, it has continued its commitment to this core principle and has informed audiences both in Afghanistan and across the globe.

Over the years, TOLOnews and its staff have suffered because of its commitment to this principle, with staff being killed, injured, beaten, intimidated, harassed, jailed and abused.

This is because information that TOLOnews has reported has caused a reaction from other parties.

However, despite the many difficulties faced by TOLOnews over the years, we have always stayed committed to that core principle.

TOLOnews will continue to report information which it deems newsworthy.—Tolonews
