Chairman Tehreek Jawanan Pakistan (TJP) Mohammad Abdullah Hamid Gul in his statement expressed deep sorrow over the loss of 21 lives in the cold of Murree. He said that despite the Meteorological Department’s severe weather forecast, the administration and the Highways Department did not take any practical steps due to which these 21 innocent lives were lost.
He said that before the snow starts, salt and snow cutters are moved to different places. As it snows, salt is sprinkled along with it and snow cutters also does not freeze due to mobility on the roads.
This time the administration did not collect the salt nor did it activate the snow cutter before the snow froze, due to which the machine cutter could not be activated due to freezing of snow.
He said that about 40,000 vehicles in Murree There is scope, then why did the administration allow so many vehicles to pass through the toll plaza, just as Murree was sealed in novel covid 19. He said it was the result of criminal negligence on the part of the administration.
If control had gotten out of their capicity, the army would have been present at Gharial Pindi Point in Kaldana, Murree on the first day, requesting the Army and Rangers to evacuate the stranded tourists.
