In a significant move against illegal logging, the South Waziristan Forest Department, under the direction of District Forest Officer Zeeshan and the supervision of Sub-District Forest Officer Wana, successfully seized two trucks loaded with illegal wood in the Tanai area of Lower South Waziristan (SWL) tribal district. The operation, conducted in collaboration with local police personnel, resulted in a fine of Rs 800,000 being imposed on both trucks.

Forest Officer Azmat Wazir highlighted the relentless efforts of the South Waziristan Forest Department to combat the illegal trade of wood. He emphasized that such illicit activities undermine the region’s environmental balance and economic sustainability.

“No one can be allowed to engage in this kind of business or transport wood illegally to other cities,” stated Azmat Wazir, underlining the department’s commitment to curbing smuggling activities. He stressed that strict instructions from higher authorities mandate immediate action against those involved in smuggling.

Azmat Wazir further asserted that the department would not tolerate trucks loaded with wood under any circumstances, and stringent departmental action would be taken against offenders. The Forest Officer urged the public to support these efforts to preserve the natural resources of South Waziristan and ensure sustainable forestry practices.
