Three more little girls died of measles in the Thal area of Sindh taking the death toll to 44, hospital sources said on Sunday. The tragic incidents occurred in Kamal Bartu village, Sarki Mahal.
The victims included three-year-old Rahiba, one-and-a-half-year-old Zainab and two-year-old Kulsoom. The deaths have spread fear among the local residents.
Villagers alleged that the Sindh government has not taken any steps to stem the spread of the deadly disease. The villagers also demanded the Sindh government to send a team of doctors for the treatment of other sick children.—INP
