In a separate development, the CTD carried out an intelligence-led operation in the Saranan area of Pishin. According to a CTD spokesperson, six suspected militants were killed following an exchange of fire.
The spokesperson said four security personnel sustained injuries during the encounter.
The CTD identified the dead suspects as members of a banned organisation and said weapons and explosives were recovered following the operation. It further alleged that the suspects had been involved in attacks against both security personnel and civilians.
