The district administration on Friday taken a stern action against those involved in artificial shortage of diesel in Pakpattan and started raids at petrol pumps.
According to the official sources, hundreds of petrol pumps across the Pakpattan district were raided and 22,000 liters of diesel were recovered.
Several petrol pumps were sealed and their owners were arrested on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Ahmar Sohail Kaifi. Assistant Commissioner Sharjeel Gujjar had the hoarded diesel sold to farmers at controlled rates.
