TEVTA following new vision, Ali tells USCG

US Consul General Catherine Rodriguez called on Technical and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairperson Ali Salman Siddique at TEVTA Secretariat on Thursday.
Ali Salman while briefing the CG said that after joining the authority, he got a gap analysis conducted to identify areas needing attention and formulated new TEVTA vision in light of this analysis.
This vision aims at provision of quality education & training, introduction of demand driven courses and ensuring economic opportunities for its trained workforce through provision of entrepreneurial skills and grabbing job opportunities for them through maintenance of close coordination and liaison with industries.
Ali said that relationship with industries was being strengthened by maintaining a close rapport with them. Thus courses and training modules were designed as per their requirements for preparing a workforce suited to their needs which in turn ensured availability of readily available jobs in the market for TEVTA trained workforce.
The US consul general while appreciating the steps taken by TEVTA management for technical education and quality training expressed interest in examining the possibility of cooperation in establishment of centers of excellence in the Province.
Later TEVTA Chairperson gave away handmade vase prepared by TEVTA students at its Ceramics Institute as souvenirs to the US consul general.
