STAFF REPORTER Interventional Cardiologist of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology Dr Asim Javed Friday said that a new procedure to repair the major blood vessels in the body has been introduced at RIC. Talking to media, the cardiologist said that Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure that was used to repair the major blood vessel in the body, called the aorta. He said that patients with thoracic or abdominal aortic aneurysm can now avail the TEVER at RIC, adding free of cost treatment would be provided to deserving patients. A thoracic aortic aneurysm is a weakened area in the upper part of the aorta. The aorta is the major blood vessel that feeds blood to the body.
