Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori highlighted Pakistan’s top-tier ranking among nations severely impacted by climate change. Addressing a conference on Believers and the Environment at the governor house on Saturday, he emphasized the need for tackling pollution and stressed the importance of planting more trees in urban areas to control environmental degradation. Governor Tessori asserted that raising public awareness and incorporating climate-related education into the curriculum are essential steps to combat environmental pollution effectively.
He underscored the significance of international cooperation, stating that strong collaboration with global organizations is crucial to addressing the challenges posed by climate change. Reflecting on Islamic teachings, the Governor cited Quranic principles and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), providing guidance on environmental preservation. He mentioned numerous examples from hadiths, encouraging actions such as planting trees, conserving water, and avoiding unnecessary consumption. Governor Tessori emphasized the responsibility of Muslims to act upon these teachings, asserting that as Muslims, it is incumbent upon them to actively participate in environmental protection efforts and contribute to the well-being of the planet.
