Sindh Governor Mohammad Kamran Khan Tessori took part in the Vaisakhi celebration, highlighting the significance of religious freedom in Pakistan. Accompanied by President of the Pakistan Sikh Youth Council, Magan Singh, Governor Khan extended his felicitations to the Sikh community, commemorating the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi.
As part of the festivities, a cake was cut in honor of Vaisakhi. Expressing warm wishes to Sikh brothers and sisters, Governor Khan underscored the importance of Vaisakhi as the beginning of a new year in the Sikh religion.
He emphasized that in Pakistan, people of various faiths, including Sikhs, have complete freedom to observe their religious festivals, and today’s event serves as a testament to this. Governor Khan remarked that Vaisakhi reminds us of the values of unity, equality, and humanity, which are integral to Sikh teachings.
He called for reflection on the principles of compassion and selfless service advocated by Guru Nanak Dev, expressing hope that this festival brings peace and prosperity to households and communities. Expressing gratitude for Governor Sindh’s participation in the ceremony, President Megn Singh conveyed his thanks on behalf of the Pakistan Sikh Youth Council.
