The FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage is taking shape, with several teams securing their places in the Round of 16 after dramatic Round of 32 encounters.
The Round of 16 lineup is still being completed, but four teams have already confirmed their progression to the next stage of the tournament.
Teams Qualified for Round of 16
Canada — Canada booked their place in the last 16 after securing a 1-0 victory over South Africa.
Brazil — The five-time world champions advanced after defeating Japan 2-1 in their Round of 32 clash.
Paraguay — Paraguay produced one of the tournament’s biggest surprises by eliminating four-time champions Germany in a penalty shootout after their match ended 1-1 following regular and extra time.
Morocco — Morocco reached the next round after overcoming the Netherlands on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
More teams are expected to join the Round of 16 as the remaining Round of 32 matches are completed.
The knockout stage continues to deliver intense competition, with several nations still competing for a place among the tournament’s final 16 teams.
