Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) has embarked on a mission to enhance the skills of teachers across both private and government schools in Lower South Waziristan district through comprehensive training programs.
The inaugural one-day teacher training and workshop took place at Al-Khidmat Public School in Spin on Monday, attracting participation from educators hailing from Spin and Tanai, who eagerly embraced the opportunity to enrich their teaching methodologies.
Jalal Wazir, General Secretary of WAWA, highlighted the organization’s longstanding commitment to teacher development, citing regular training sessions conducted in Abbottabad over the years. Emphasizing the significance of localized training initiatives, Wazir reiterated WAWA’s stance that well-trained teachers serve as the linchpin in addressing educational challenges and ensuring equitable access to quality education for children in Wana.
WAWA’s expansion of training programs to Lower South Waziristan district aims to facilitate convenient access to professional development opportunities for all teachers, without discrimination based on school affiliation. Wazir acknowledged the potential financial burden associated with organizing workshops in distant cities, underscoring the importance of bringing training resources directly to educators’ doorsteps.
Sherullah Wazir, a participating teacher, lauded the one-day training session organized by Wana Welfare Association, expressing gratitude for the invaluable insights gained. He noted that the training had equipped him with practical strategies to overcome teaching hurdles, thereby enhancing his effectiveness in imparting knowledge to students.
