Deputy Commissioner and Administrator Central District Taha Saleem has issued special flat cards to various vehicles used by Central Municipality for fuel sling, the purpose of which is to reduce the cost of petrol and prevent micro-fraud.
In the context of petrol quota in Central Municipality used to issue petrol quota slips for various departmental vehicles including dumper loaders and garbage trucks in return for which fuel was obtained from certain petrol pumps.
There was a good chance of embezzlement and corruption in the procedure as it was found that money was obtained in exchange for slips through the connivance of drivers and petrol pump personnel.Iissuance will significantly curb fuel corruption, while Central Municipality vehicles will now be able to get fuel from any petrol pump through Flat Card.
