On the directives of the Prime Minister, the Punjab government has continued a crackdown on profiteers to ensure availability of essential commodities at fixed rates.
According to details, this was stated in a meeting presided by Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik to review the price control measures in the province.The meeting informed that the price control magistrates imposed fines of over Rs20 million on the violators, arrested 465 persons and lodged 451 FIRs against them during the current month.
On the occasion, the CS said that due to the government’s initiatives, flour and sugar are available in abundant quantity in the open market and supply of sugar at low prices has brought relief to the common man.He also asked the Punjab Cane Commissioner to submit a report on the start of crushing season in sugar mills and payments to the farmers.
PSCA E-CHALLAN ONLINE PAYMENT SYSTEM SET TO BE UNVEILED
Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has decided to launch online payment system for E Challan in collaboration with the Finance Department. Given the concerns of coronavirus and keeping in view the convenience of citizens, the online E-payment system of E-challans is set to be launched soon in collaboration with the FD. Citizens will no longer have to line up at banks for payment of e challans after the launch of this facility. Citizens will be able to pay E-challan through Punjab e-pay online Mobile application. The PSCA spokesperson said that citizens can make electronic payments through ATM, Easy Paisa, Jazz Cash, and online banking by using Punjab e-pay app.
