LAHORE – The Punjab government has increased the token tax for vehicles, including Suzuki Cultus and Bolan, with effect from July 1, 2024.
The Punjab Assembly approved the Budget for next fiscal year 2024-25 last month, which had recommended change in policy for determination of token tax on vehicles.
Under the newly enforced policy, the lifetime token tax on cars with engine capacity 1000cc has been increased by Rs5,000 while the token tax for vehicle with engine capacity above 1000cc will be evaluated on the basis of their invoice price as earlier it was determined on the basis of engine capacity.
The token tax is collected by the Excise and Taxation department in Punjab.
Suzuki Cultus boasts 998cc engine while the engine size of Suzuki Bolan stands at 796 cc. Both vehicles are subjected to one-time lifetime token tax and in this article we have gathered details about it.

The lifetime token tax rate has been increased by Rs5,000 in the budget 2024-25. So, the lifetime token tax for Suzuki Cultus and Suzuki Bolan will be Rs20,000, with effect from July 1, 2024.
