LAHORE – The Lahore High Court’s Election Tribunal (ET) on Tuesday directed  the Election Commission of Pakistan to submit Form 45 regarding victory of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in the general elections.

Justice Anwar Hussain of the Election Tribunal was hearing the plea moved by Mehar Shafqat, the candidate who contested against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in PP-159.

The petitioner argued that notification of Maryam Nawaz’s success and victory in the said constituency is inaccurate.

He asked the tribunal to set aside the same.

The counsel representing Punjab CM Maryam opposed the plea and said that it is not maintainable, and the same be dismissed. The counsel who was representing the ECP stated that 102 polling stations were set up in the constituency.

The judge asked the counsel as to why Form-45, which included the signatures of the presiding officer and other candidates, was not uploaded on the website.

On it, the counsel asked the tribunal to give more time to submit the original Form-45 records.

The tribunal while accepting his plea allowed him time and adjourned until the last week of July the hearing of the case.
