Revised Withholding Tax on Suzuki Alto All Variants

Previously, the government collects fixed charges of Rs10,000 in wake of WHT from filers and Rs30,000 from non-filers on each unit.

The government has approved the budget for fiscal year 2024-25, which has introduced a significant change in withholding tax policy. Now, the tax will be evaluated on basis of vehicle’s invoice price instead of engine size.

With effect from July 1, vehicles with engine capacity up to 850cc are subject to the withholding tax, which will be 0.5% of the car’s value for filers and 1.5% for non-filers.

Under the policy, there will be Rs11,655 WHT for non-filers on Alto VX while it will be Rs34,965 for non-filers.

Similarly, there will be Rs13,535 WHT on Alto VXR for filers and Rs40,065 for non-filers. For Alto VXR-AGS, it will be Rs14,470 for filers and Rs43,410 for non-filers. Similarly, it will be Rs15,225 for filers on Alto VXL and Rs45,675 for non-filers.
