Suspects Arrested For Sexually Abusing Over 100 Children In Karachi

KARACHI – Karachi police on Saturday claimed to have carried out the largest operation of the year by arresting a suspect and his accomplice allegedly involved in the sexual abuse of more than 100 children.

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Usman Sadozai said the arrests were made during a raid in the Tipu Sultan area following the identification of a victim. He said the detained suspects include the main accused, Imran, and his accomplice, Waqas Khan. According to police, seven complaints were reported between 2020 and 2025, while the suspects are believed to have abused over 100 children.

Sadozai said DNA evidence from cases registered in different districts matched the same individual, prompting a detailed investigation. He said boys aged between 12 and 13 were targeted in all the cases, and in one instance, a child was assaulted by more than one person. DNA profiles matched the suspect in all seven registered cases.

He added that Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Azad Khan formed a special team on January 6 under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CIA Muqaddas Haider. The team arrested the most wanted suspects within 11 days.

According to police, the main accused, Imran, is a resident of Manzoor Colony and ran a puncture repair stall. He has confessed to abusing dozens of children over a period of six years, allegedly luring them on a motorcycle and taking them to the Malir Naddi area, where the assaults were carried out.

Sadozai said children in three cases identified Imran, while in one case a victim identified both Imran and Waqas Khan. He said in one incident the suspects took a child to Surjani Town, but fled when the child raised an alarm.

Inspector General of Police Sindh said the investigation was conducted on scientific grounds, and the formation of the special team followed the emergence of identical DNA evidence in multiple cases. He added that the investigation team would be awarded for its work.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed that the case be taken to court on the basis of strong evidence and instructed the Additional IG Karachi to provide daily updates on the progress of the case.

He said crimes against children are unacceptable and stressed that police must take all possible steps to ensure the suspects are brought to justice.
