LAHORE – Punjab Minister for Housing Bilal Yaseen has inaugurated Disneyland-style playland, covering 2-acre area, at the Greater Iqbal Park to offer a unique recreational experience to families in Lahore.
The minister was accompanied by PHA Vice Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt and DG PHA Raja Mansoor.
Minister Bilal Yaseen emphasised the importance of providing diverse recreational facilities for families and children within parks, stating that such amenities are essential for promoting healthy activities in a natural environment.
He further stated that this initiative aims to enhance the well-being of the community by offering a space for physical and mental rejuvenation.
The playland, designed in the style of Disneyland, features motion rides and other attractions tailored to children.
The materials used, including swings and play equipment, have been certified by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) for safety and fitness standards.
In his briefing, the minister also stressed the importance of adhering to safety protocols and fitness certification, and directed the implementation of SOPs to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Lahore Zoo Timings Increased
Lahore Zoo administration has decided to extend the timings from next month of February, offering night-time entertainment activities in order to attract more tourists and families.
A senior official told media that people will be able to visit the zoo after dark, starting next month.
Currently, the operational timings of the zoo are from 09:00 am till sunset and the zoo is open round the week.
The official said some sections, including the lion enclosures, Reptile House, fish aquarium and Hologram Zoo, will be kept open during night timings.
He revealed that the food court will be revamped while the zoo will be decorated with beautiful lights.
The administration has also planned to offer puppet shows during evening hours to children while live musical performances will be held on weekends.
As per the initial reports, the Lahore Zoo will remain open until 9pm. However, the hours could be extended for weekends due to live musical performances and other activities.
