Mohsin Naqvi calls for fair pay, equal opportunities for new PSL teams

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday urged PSL team owners to increase player salaries during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council meeting.

The sources said that Naqvi emphasized that with the growing market value of the franchises, it was essential to ensure that players also benefit through higher remuneration. He suggested holding a player auction for PSL 11, allowing teams to select players freely, which would provide direct advantages to the players.

The PCB chairman also highlighted the need to give the two new franchises equal opportunities in player selection, while the working committee is expected to discuss player retention policies for existing teams.

The meeting, chaired by Naqvi, was attended by representatives from eight franchises, PCB officials, and PSL authorities.

During the session, the two new team owners were formally welcomed, and Naqvi congratulated all franchises on the successful PSL team auctions.
