Survey process completed to estimate damage caused by flood: DG PDMA

Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab Faisal Farid has said that a comprehensive survey process has been completed to estimate the damage caused by the flood. He said that including Pakistan Army, PDMA, Urban Unit, Revenue. Other organizations have completed the survey process by visiting every town.

He said that in total, 55,452 houses were destroyed by the flood in Punjab, including 47,585 raw and 7867 Solid houses.

He said that the Punjab government, the victims will be given financial assistance of Rs. 02 lakhs for the partial damage of the solid houses and 50000 thousand rupees for the partial damage of the unwashed house. He said that a total of 652 animals were killed in the flood, in which 494 small and 158 large animals were killed. Punjab Government 75,000 thousand rupees for the death of a large animal and 5,000 thousand rupees for the death of a small animal. He said that due to the recent flood, crops standing on 430,000 acres were damaged.

It will also provide financial assistance of Rs.5000 thousand and the financial assistance will be given up to five acres of land.

DG PDMA Faisal Farid said that 81 people have died in the recent floods, the Punjab government has given to the families of those who died in the flood.

1 million rupees has already been distributed, a total of 81 million rupees have been distributed among the families of 81 people. Faisal Farid said that 55 people were injured and 02 people were disabled during the recent floods in Punjab.

The government of Punjab has given one hundred thousand rupees to the disabled persons and forty thousand rupees to the injured will provide assistance.

DG PDMA Faisal Farid while speaking said that the Punjab government has increased the amount of aid for the rehabilitation of the victims several times; the Punjab government will spend a huge amount of 12 billion rupees on the rehabilitation of the flood victims. The Director General said that on the basis of a comprehensive survey, transparent and direct provision of funds to the affected families will be done by the Bank of Punjab.
