ISLAMABAD – The federal government has made several key appointments and transfers within the bureaucracy.
Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry has been appointed as the new Inspector General (IG) of the National Highways and Motorways Police.
Chaudhry, a Grade-21 police officer, was previously serving in the Punjab government. He will take over from the current IG, BA Nasirr, who will retire on November 30. Chaudhry is set to assume his new role on December 1.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Waqas Anwar as a member of the Planning Commission (Infrastructure and Regional Connectivity). Anwar’s appointment is on a two-year contract basis.
In other changes, Captain (R) Saleem Abbas Kalachi has been posted to the Federal Constabulary, while Dr. Mohammad Tariq Moaj has been transferred from his position as Additional Secretary in the Planning Division to become the Secretary of the Federal Public Service Commission.
Furthermore, OSD Jameel Akhtar Khan has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary in the Revenue Division, while Deputy Secretary Mohammad Khan Babar has been designated as OSD.
The Establishment Division has issued official notifications regarding these appointments and transfers.
