In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, students and parents staged a protest and locked down the school against shortage of teaching staff in south Kashmir Islamabad district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, scores of students along with their parents assembled in the premises of Government High School, Thaman Koot, in Verinag area of the district and asked the administration to look into the matter and provide them proper teaching facility. “The protesting students and parents locked down the institution,” reports said.
“We are around 11 classes in the high school and authorities have provided us only six teachers to teach, how the six teachers will manage two hundred students,” one of protesting students said.
“On one hand, the regime is claiming to improve the literacy rate and, on the other, they are not providing adequate staff to the schools.”
The protesting students and their parents have appealed to the higher authorities to take notice of the issue and fill the vacant posts of teachers at the earliest.
Meanwhile, posters appeared in different areas of Srinagar with the massage, ‘it is the time to get united and raise voice against the Indian occupation’.
The posters also read that supporting the Hindutva-inspired BJP and their collaborators is tantamount to treason with Jammu and Kashmir.—KMS
